Untuk mengurangi pembiayaan dan tercapainya target ibu hamil yang mengikuti kelas ibu hamil sebanyak 80 % dari sasaran, maka Puskesmas Salido meluncurkan kelas ibu hamil mandiri. Kelas ibu hamil mandiri bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, keterampilan ibu-ibu dan keluarga mengenai perawatan kehamilan, persalinan, nifas, penyakit dan komplikasi saat hamil, bersalin, nifas, perawatan bayi baru lahir dan senam ibu hamil menggunakan buku KIA. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas kelas ibu hamil mandiri terhadap pengetahuan ibu primipara trimester II tentang tanda-tanda bahaya kehamilan di perumnas nagari painan timur wilayah kerja Puskesmas Salido tahun 2020. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah quassy eksperimen dengan menggunakan rancangan one group pretest-posttest dengan tekhnik purposive sampling dandengan sampel 8 orang. Penelitian ini dilakukan tanggal 27 – 28 juni 2020. Hasil penelitian rata-rata tingkat pengetahuan Ibu sebelum diberikan penyuluhan adalah 9,625 dengan standar deviasi 2,446. Dan hasil penelitian rata-rata tingkat pengetahuan ibu sesudah diberikan penyuluhan adalah 17,875 dengan standar deviasi 1,246. Hasil uji statistik t-tes dependen memiliki nilai signifikansi 0,000 (p value < 0.05, terlihat adanya efektivitas kelas kelas ibu hamil mandiri terhadap pengetahuan ibu primipara trimester II tentang tanda-tanda bahaya kehamilan di perumnas nagari painan timur wilayah kerja puskesmas salido tahun 2020.. Saran agar selanjutnya diharapkan bidan di Puskesmas dapat memberikan perhatian lebih terhadap program kelas ibu hamil mandiri di wilayah kerjanya. sehingga dapat mencegah kematian pada ibu.
