Diperkirakan, anak dibawah tiga tahun mengalami episode diare tiga kali dalam setahun dan empat juta anak meninggal diselruh dunia akibat diare dan malnutrisi.Kematian akibat diare karena dehidrasi akibat kehilangan cairan dan elektrolit tubuh secara berlebihan.Penyakit diare masih merupakan masalah global dengan derajat kesakitan dan kematian yang tinggi diberbagai negara terutama Negara Berkembang dan sebagai salah satu penyebab utama tingginya angka kesakitan dan kematian anak di dunia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan status gizi dengan kejadian diare pada balita di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Surantih Kecamatan Sutera Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan Tahun 2019. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian observational analysis. Penelitian di Puskemas Surantih Kecamatan Sutera Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan pada tanggal 26 September 2019 tanggal 5 Oktober 2019. Populasi adalah keseluruhan ibu yang memiliki balita umur 2-3 tahun di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Surantih Kecamatan Sutera bulan Agustus 2019 berjumlah 45 orang dan sampel sebanyak 33 orang. Pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar cheklist dan diolah secara komputerisasi. Analisis data secara univariat dan bivariat menggunakan uji chi-square. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian didapatkan 69,69% responden mengalami kejadian Diare, 9,09 % status gizi buruk, 39,39 % status gizi kurang, 48,48% status gizi baik dan 3,03% status gizi lebih. Hasil uji statistik menunjukan bahwa p Value (0,000) < 0.05. Terdapat hubungan status gizi dengan kejadian diare pada balita di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Surantih Kecamatan Sutera Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan Tahun 2019. Perlu tindak lanjut terhadap orang tua balita yang mengalami diare pada anaknya dan berupaya untuk melakukan pencegahan terhadap faktor risiko terjadinya diare dengan meningkatkan asupan zat gizi. Hasil penelitian (60.6%) memiliki pengetahuan baik, (57.6%) memiliki sikap yang baik, (51.5%) memiliki dukungan keluarga yang positif, (54.5%) tidak patuh terhadap diet DM, Terdapat hubungan yang significantantara pengetahuan dengan kepatuhan diet denganp-value (0.002), Terdapat hubungan yang significantantara sikap dengan kepatuhan diet denganp- value (0.043), Terdapat hubungan yang significant antara dukungan keluarga dengan kepatuhan diet denganp-value (0.002).Penelitian ini dapat menjadi acuan bagi lahan penelitian tentang tingkat kepatuhan pasien DM terhadap diet DM.
