Pada bab ini dibahas tentang Kebutuhan Dasar Manusia 1 menjelaskan tentang 1) konsep manusia, pengertian kebutuhan dasar manusia, macam kebutuhan dasar manusia menurut beberapa ahli, 2) menuliskan konsep asuhan keperawatan pada lingkup kebutuhan dasar manusia mulai dari pengkajian sampai dengan evaluasi, 3) mengidentifikasi konsep pengukuran tanda-tanda vital, sehingga pada akhirnya nanti dapat melakukan pemeriksaan fisik secara keseluruhan (head to too), dan seterusnya tentang kebutuhan-kebutuhan kita sebagai manusia seperti: kebutuhan personal hygiene, kebutuhan eliminasi urine, kebutuhan eliminasi bowel, kebutuhan istirahat/tidur, kebutuhan aktivitas, .... sampai dengan kebutuhan rasa aman dan nyaman serta dapat melakukan tindakan prosedur keperawatan yang diperlukan dalam asuhan dengan mempelajari panduan praktikum.
