              <text>Type 2 diabetes mellitus is diabetes mellitus that is often found in adults,  Type 2 diabetes mellitus is &#13;
diabetes mellitus that is often found in adults, characterized by uncontrolled blood sugar conditions. Increased &#13;
blood sugar levels for a long time can damage blood vessels, nerves and other internal structures. Dietary &#13;
compliance is an important factor in running a diet so that blood glucose levels can be controlled. The fact is &#13;
that food arrangements often fail because sufferers do not obey in carrying out good eating rules, due to lack of &#13;
support from family. Where family members play a very important role in nursing problems when members &#13;
experience health problems. The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between family support &#13;
and dietary compliance in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The research design was descriptive correlation &#13;
with a cross sectional design. The population is all type 2 DM patients who visit the internal medicine clinic at &#13;
RSUD dr. Achmad Darwis Suliki, with an average visit of 116 patients per month. The number of samples is 90 &#13;
people, taken by accidental sampling. Collecting data using a questionnaire and analyzed using the chi-square &#13;
test. The univariate results showed that 52.2% of respondents received positive support from their families and &#13;
53.3% did not adhere to a type 2 diabetes diet. Bivariate results showed that there was a relationship between &#13;
family support and dietary compliance in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (p = 0.000 and OR = 7.040). ). It &#13;
was concluded that family support was related to dietary compliance of type 2 diabetes mellitus patients. &#13;
Suggestions to officers to always provide information and motivation to diabetes mellitus patients and their &#13;
families, in complying with the rules of type 2 diabetes mellitus diet. &#13;
