Indonesia berada pada peringkat 76 dari 183 negara dalam daftar penyebab kematian akibat BBLR dan Indonesia turut menjadi negara ke dua dengan prevelensi BBLR tertinggi di ASEAN. Di kota Bukitinggi terjadi peningkatan BBLR dari tahun 2021 ke tahun 2022. Terdapat beberapa faktor penyebab BBLR yaitu faktor ibu, janin, plasenta dan lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor resiko kejadian BBLR di Rumah Sakit Dr Achmad Mochtar Kota Bukittinggi Tahun 2023. Jenis penelitian menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain case control, populasi penelitian ini adalah ibu yang melahirkan di Rumah Sakit Dr Achmad Mochtar Kota Bukittinggi Tahun 2023. Sampel penelitian ini berjumlah 50 orang (25 kempok kasus dan 25 kelompok kontrol) dengan perbandingan case control 1:1. Cara pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik purosive sampling. Hasil statistik di uji menggunakan chi square (p<0,05). Hasil penelitian univariat pada kelompok kasus sebagian besar ibu menderita anemia (72%), dan sebagian besar ibu tidak menderita hipertensi (80%), dan tidak beresiko (84%). Sedangkan pada kelompok kontrol sebagian besar ibu tidak menderita anemia (80%), dan tidak menderita hipertensi (84%), dan tidak beresiko (88%). Hasil bivariat didapatkan bahwa variabel yang berhubungan dengan BBLR adalah kadar hemoglobin ibu yang rendah (anemia) p-vale 0,000, dan yang tidak berhubungan adalah tekanan darah ibu yang tinggi (hipertensi) p-value 0,713 dan tinggi badan ibu p-value 0,684.
